Missouri EMS Conference & Expo Held in Branson

Award Winners 2015

The Missouri EMS Conference & Expo was held

July 28-31, 2015 at the Branson Convention Center

and Hilton Hotel in Branson, Mo. This was the fifth

year the conference was held at that location, and the

conference is committed to Branson through 2018.

One of the highlights of the conference came in the

form of a pre-conference. The Missouri Association of

Air Medical Services (MOAAMS) sponsored a class on

Grain Bin Rescue. After four hours in the classroom,

the participants moved outside

to the parking lot for hands-on

practice in a real grain bin

on a hot Missouri afternoon.

There were many positive

comments about it being a

great class with very practical information.

The Emergency Nurses Association sponsored

two outstanding speakers, Joan Somes and Jeff

Solheim. The conference is reluctant to book the

same speakers two years in a row, but in response to

many requests, Jeff has agreed to return in 2016. He is

highly entertaining in addition to bringing up-to-date

information on clinical subjects.

This year marked the third year EMSC grant

money sponsored pediatric speakers, which gave us

the opportunity to offer eight outstanding presentations

on pediatric subjects over three days. More than 50

vendors were on display in the exhibit hall and nearly

300 people attended at least part of the conference.

Plans are already underway for the 2016

conference. If you have suggestions or want to be

considered to speak, please contact Ruby Mehrer, .

See you in Branson.
